Three Research Projects Approved by the Research Council of IRC
The Research Council of Insurance Research Center (IRC), in its meeting on Monday, February 19, 2024, with the participation of Dr. Mohammad Mahdi Asgari, CEO of IRC, approved the following three research projects: “Comparative Study of the Insurance Laws in Selected Countries and Recommendations for Amending Iran Insurance Act 1410” led by Dr. Leili Niakan, IRC Research Associate, “Examination of the Financial Conditions of Insurance Companies Based on Annual Statistical Report Data” led by Dr. Maryam Ethna-ashari, Director of Property and Liability Insurance Research Department, and “Developing Risk indices for Marine Risk Profile In Order To Do Actuarial Calculation of Such Risks” led by Dr. Mohsen Gharakhani.

In this meeting, Dr. Asgari, the CEO of IRC, presented a review of IRC’s recent move in cooperating with domestic institutes including University of Qum. He also referred to the latest meetings of IRC delegates at UAE with six active institutes working in the fields of insurance, takaful, and Islamic finance.
Dr. Asgari also pointed to the upcoming takaful advanced training course intended for the insurance industry managers that would be conducted by Kings World Careers Academy at Dubai, UAE.  
In the second half of the meeting, the three research projects on ‘insurance law’, ‘financial condition of insurance companies’, and ‘actuary for marine risks’ were examined and reviewed by the members of the Council. The projects will be commenced as soon as the required amendments will be made.   
In the Council meeting, the research assistants and academic and technical advisors of each project were also chosen.
