Research Update: “Simplification and Acceleration of Data Pipelines in Digital and Insurance Financial Plans”
A new project has been accomplished by General Insurance Department of Insurance Research Center (IRC) on data pipelines in insurance and released by IRC Publications.

According to PRAIO-IRC, the research project “Simplification and Acceleration of Data Pipelines in Digital and Insurance Financial Plans” is carried out by Dr. Ilham Nowbari, Assistant Professor, Faculty of Sciences, Mazandaran University of Science and Technology, with the collaboration of Dr. Amir Teymour Payandeh, Faculty Member, Shahid Beheshti University, and Dr. Farzan Khamesian, Associate Researcher of IRC.

The research project is divided into two major chapters: Chapter 1: “Challenges in Data Transmission Lines in Digital Financial Affairs and Insurance”; Chapter 2: “Architectural Patterns of Data Transmission Lines in Digital and Insurance Financial Plans”. The former chapter comprises of the following themes: ‘history’, ‘the challenges in data transmission’, ‘the ordered steps in data pipeline in financial affairs and insurance’, ‘the know-how of simplification and acceleration of data pipelines using LeanXcale’, and ‘exploring new use cases of INFINITECH approach in data pipeline”.

The second chapter, starts with ‘an introduction’ and continues with the following themes: ‘classification of databases for data pipeline’, ‘architectural patterns that deal with the present and historical data’, ‘architectural patterns for critical data without uploading’, ‘architectural patterns facing aggregates’, ‘architecture patterns facing scalability’, and ‘pipelining data in INFINITECH’.

The millstones of any financial and insurance companies are data by which they can gain competitive advantage in the market. In order to process a vast amount of data, these organizations have created pipelines. Generally, these platforms are not sufficiently agile and this can be simply observed when they develop intricate and expensive architectures in order to combine various types of data stores. Apart from data size, an appropriate architecture can reduce the time for accessing data. It can also make the process parallelization efficient. This combination of capabilities helps decrease the complexity of data pipelines and reduces the overall cost of ownership.

These issues plus more can be found in the new project of General Insurance Department of Insurance Research Center (IRC).
