Coordinated by the Personal Insurances Research Department of IRC, the study is aimed at exploring the rating systems of the group health insurances and the extent to which the regulatory authorities intervene in these systems. Providing a SWOT analysis of the rating group health insurances in Iran insurance industry and their risk management are other purposes of the study, according to PRIAO-IRC.
The research project strives to identify present challenges and exposures of the group health insurances, health insurance system, group health insurance rating system, determining factors in calculating group health premiums, and the extent of the regulator’s interventions in insurance rating in the following selected countries India, U.S., Türkiye, Australia, Switzerland, and Iran.
The research project also deals with the risk classification and management in group health insurances in another set of selected countries including U.S., Australia, Germany, England, Japan, Switzerland, France, Canada, and South Korea.
In the same vein, the ways health insurers of these countries face with the perceived risks and the models used are also examined in the study. Finally, some recommendations based on the findings of the research are presented and it is proposed that the Bylaw 94 approved by the Supreme Insurance Council could be amended based on the results of the present comparative study.
