Two Research Projects Approved by the Research Council of IRC
On Monday, April 15, 2024 and on the first meeting of the Research Council of Insurance Research Center (IRC) in 1403, Iranian solar hijri year, two research projects with the main themes of ‘economic status’ and ‘governance in the insurance industry’ were approved.

According to PRIAO-IRC, the proposed research projects were titled “The Impact of the Macro-Economic Variables on the Macro Indicators of the Insurance Industry” and “Strategic Analysis of the Insurance Business Environment and Developing Governance Roadmap for the Insurance Industry”.

Using descriptive statistics, inferential statistics, and econometric models, the first approved project on “The Impact of the Macro-Economic Variables on the Macro Indicators of the Insurance Industry” is expected to be accomplished in 8 months. The project will deal with “the economic status of the insurance industry, the impacts of the macro economic variables such as liquidity, GDP, income per capita, inflation, and etc. on the insurance industry”.

Some of the anticipated upshots of the project includes generating strategic and executive report for the industry practitioners on the economic status of the insurance industry, analyzing the economic shocks and their impact on the insurance industry, and identifying the economic variables and indicators based on the official and reliable sources including statistical annual reports of the insurance industry of Iran and financial statements.

The second proposed research project on “Strategic Analysis of the Insurance Business Environment and Developing Governance Roadmap for the Insurance Industry” is intended to use SWOT analysis and to be carried out in 8 months. The project is also expected to deal with “the possible challenges and strategies of the insurance industry, the insurance industry challenges regarding revenue and profitability, insurance penetration rate, and the impact of the inflectional environment on solvency”.

Some of the expected results of this project are to spot economic and financial challenges, insurance industry risks, economic shocks and sanctions, developing strategies to respond to such challenges, presenting relevant governance strategies to respond to the insurance industry risks, and tackling financial and economic challenges.
