In this meeting, Dr. Asgari, after introducing IRC as the sole insurance training and research center in Iran, reviewed some of the latest activities of the center and pinpointed to the recent international relationships that has been established by IRC with several academic institutions across the globe especially in Muslim countries.

The CEO of IRC, also introduced the upcoming annual event of IRC known as ICID (International Conference on Insurance and Development) with the main theme of ‘Opportunities and Challenges of Applying Modern Technologies in the Insurance and Takaful Industries’ and invited his counterpart and other academic staff of SEGEM to participate in the event to be conducted in December 4, 2024.

In his speech, Mr. Gökhan Ay introduced SEGEM and its position in Turkish insurance industry and presented a brief review of the center’s recent activities and developments.

He also welcomed any feasible cooperation with IRC in near future especially in the realms of training and education.

It must be noted that Sigortacılık Eğitim Merkezi (SEGEM) is a professional organization established as a legal entity within the Association of Insurance and Reinsurance Companies of Türkiye. As an academic insurance authority and certification center, SEGEM’s activities include conducting research, contributing to the development and effectiveness of existing training programs, contributing to the employment of qualified personnel in the insurance sector, organizing conferences, seminars and training programs, and collaborating with relevant institutions in the country and across the world. The examinations conducted by SEGEM are provided for the following professionals: Insurance Agencies, Actuaries, Insurance Adjusters, and Insurance and Reinsurance Brokers.
